I just set up a 95gal FOWLR. I got a UV sterilzer, fluorescent lamps, stand & canopy, overflow box, drilled tank, canister filter, water, rock, plus buckets and all the power strips, timers and electrical. My tank came to be about 2800.

I actually was just at a Aquarium store here in North Dallas today and noticed a 95 Gallon glass aquarium including the stand and canopy for just over $450. I almost got it! Beautiful Aquarium. They were offering a 20% discount today. I don't know if that was the original price or with the discount. I would still do some research before you spend almost $1,000 on just the Aquarium!
Just my 2 cents

I got my 125 gallon Marineland tank, wood stand, florescent light strip, and glass hoods for $495.00 on sale at my local pet store. He has that same deal quite often. It's good to shop around!! (But, I know that bowfronts are always quite a bit higher in price.)

this price is about right. my first tank was a 72 gallon and I paid about $1100 for everything. and that is EVERYTHING....including LR, LS, wet/dry, skimmer, heater, salt, lights (cheap pc's, but still), stand, tank, timer, etc etc etc.

Agreed. I've always spent a good chunk of change for equipment after the purchase of the tank. Really, in this hobby, the tank is actually one of the cheaper things that you invest in once you add up all the additional stuff you'll need. I'm still trying to figure out when I'll be able to afford more live rock LOL!!

BF Spent 660 on my 65 gal and it came with - Wood Stand, 1 large live rock and some rubble, Emperor 400 HOB filter, 2 bags of Argonite substrate, 1 powerhead, Glass top, lightstrip, Hydrometer, small net, crappy beginners book, Some other things to get us started I can't remember it all right now.
but I went to a different pet store that is local (No Salt Fish there thought) and they had a 125 with stant and hood for around 800 told my dad they could buy me that for christmas but It seems Im still waiting for it :)
I have spent over 600 for everything else I have bought including more live rock, fish another powerhead, hydrometer (broke the first one on the first day), food, books etc.

where are you by the way? if you had a general location in your profile some people might be offering you local tanks way cheaper. nobody's going to try to stalk you if you just put your state in there. hackers can already find you hehehe, although i don't think they want to sell you a tank lol!
i paid 699 for my first 125 tank, top and verrry nice stand. i just recently bought a 90w/stand for 250 and traded it up to a 135w/stand&canopy for no more $$. so you can do a lot cheaper and better using local people.
i get used 55's all the time with stands and various random equipment included for about $50. never buy a used tank without a centerbrace though, there's quite a few of those going around where i'm at and it's too much of a hassle for a used tank. imho...

no i don't want to sell or ship!!!
