How much time does your Torch stay open?

All the time? Some of the time? Mine is fully open from ~10am until about 3pm. Outside of those times, it is usually mostly closed up. Is this normal or is something wrong? Tank params are all good with only the dkh being a bit high.

Like lots of corals..they will open up when the lights are on. Mine really retracts when the lights are out....but fire up the MHs and it opens WAY up.No need to worry.

Hocky you don't have to set your lights to go on at sunrise...set them to turn on when you are home in the evenings and for them to go off about when you go to bed. So is you have a 9 to 5 job, set them for 2 to 11, so you can enjoy them while you are at home.

This is a good point. Maybe I'll dial the lights back to actinics at 2, all at 3, back to actinics at 11, and moonlights only at midnight. That would be ~9 hours on all lighting, that should be plenty, right?

mine are open all day. under a 250 MH and 2 96 PC's. It gets bigger than a softball sometimes. Flow has a lot to do with it because i have moved him 1 inch back or 1 inch to the right and he doesnt open up as much.
