I've never had an anemone but read tons about them while researching my clownfish for a few months. they eat fish in the wild, and in tanks, they will eat mysis, small pieces of saltwater fish (dipped in freshwater to be safe). my tiny anemones that were on my hermit before he died eat small pellet foods.
i would keep with the mysis, maybe try small pieces of fish.

Most all fish that dont host anemones wont go near one. Although thats not saying an anemone wont capitalize on a meal should a wary fish happen to get lazy an end up in its tenticles.
All anemones should be considered fish eaters however there are some that have a worse reputation than others. If you want your anem to grow quickly then feed it frequently, every 2 days or so. If you want it grow slower then once a week is fine.
As far as what to feed it, anything raw, natural and fish. Shrimp, clams, slilver sides, mysis etc... varying the diet is a good idea and the portion should be no larger than the animals mouth.

Do these have to be individually fed, or do they just pick up what's floating around when the fish are being fed?

They will take drifting food but its no guarantee that the food will drift their way. Typically target feeding is the way to go. Place the food directly in the anemes tenticles. A healthy specimine wont waste any time in collapsing around the meal.

PerfectDark,
I am planning WAY ahead about an 'anemone/clown combo' in my Red Sea MAX. I have always keep the 'classic false' clowns! I am thinking that I would like the different look of the 'Gold Band Maroons'.
Do you have a favorite 'anemone/maroon' combo to suggest? Is a pair a good choice or not? I will probably not have any other anemones in the tank... except for the 'clowns' host because of the their light requirements.
Appreciate your thoughts....
