how much to get sump going?

How much did it cost to get a sump going? I am thinking about getting something off ----, but I am not sure if I can post it here. It costs approximately $200 and includes the skimmer. It has bio balls. Are those good? I also am considering building it myself if it is easy enough. I am switching from a power filter to a sump so I need some advise. Thanks.

I'm pretty sure I know which one your talking about...
And you can build it Bigger and Better than that for less than $200...Minus the Skimmer...
But that skimmer is junk and you'll be paying around or a little more than $200 to get a good one, no matter which sump you get...

Well I already have a CPR bak pak, so I thought that one included might be sufficient enough. What do you think?

I added a 20 gallon long under my 55 display and is working like a champ. I am able to hide the heater, skimmer, phosban reactor, the return pump and I added more live rock and feather caulerpa to help with the natural filtration.

Again if it's the one I'm thinking of (on e-buy) it's too small to be much good..
At 20"x12"x8" that's about 10 gallons...lower the water in the tank for opperation and you have 3 in the sump and 5 in the fuge...:nope:
Two pump systems NEVER work and they don't include an oveflow...
Skimmer too small for any added benifit..
Light 13 or 18 watt..??? :nope:
You can DIY a 20 or better yet a 30 gallon tank, HOB overflow, return pump, and a couple baffles for fuge, and even a small PC light for less than $200...
And still have a couple bucks to upgrade your skimmer (or use it ) and buy more LR...
