Daceman89...
While testing for stronium...What do find the best level or "range" to be... to keep your tank at...or under...???

I wouldn't dose anything that I couldn't check the levels on. If you're testing for these then dose per the directions until levels are satisfactory. Otherwise, you'll be over dosing, gauranteed!

I've never dosed for either...I believe most dececnt quality salt mixs will provide sufficient levels of them. The only trace I suppliment is magnesium via Seachems Reef calcim with magnesium. I try to maintain a 3000ppm levels and use a salifert test to monitor it. I'd caution against any additive that is not closely monitored and accurately tested.

i would never dose them....some people do to help make the coral skeleton denser but i think you don't need too

i change my water once a month almost 50%of my water is changed the more water you change the more waste and nitrites you remove i dont do small amounts every week i do one big one once a month and as far as strontium i know it is the element used in fire works for red colors it is also the reason coralline alge is red and i also know that if your coralline alge starts to bleach your strontium is to low and i know the more strontium and your coralline growth will increases...

FWIW...
Natural Sea Water levels are ~8ppt...
I test and run 8-12 ppt..
Around 35 ppt (some) inverts start dieing...
Its "cumulative" and doesn't take much to raise...
Below 5ppt (some) coral growth is stunted...
Evidence for the "benifits" of raised stronium levels (higher than NSW) is "Anecdotal" at best ...
Mine goes "somewhere" and needs to be bumped occasionally...

i have been doing alot of reading on the key elements on things we add into are tanks and if they really work and if we really reak the benifits in useing supplents in are tanks i know Iodine is a must but some dont they rely on water changes alone and dont use nothing i have seen tanks go for a year are longer with out water changes - all just can never understand how that is done....

Maybe once a month or so...
The stronium test is a PITA to do accurately (kind of like Iodide or Mag.) so I only check "occasionally"..
I use Turbo stronium (premixed to solution) and give the tank a "squirt" or two when levels get to 3ppt, usually brings it up to 10-12ppt...
A "squirt" is a not so technical term for about 10ml of premix in a 120 gallon system...

Iodine a must? i dot add ti and my tank is thriving, who every said that is lieing, ebcause iodine can destory your tank, you cnat measure it properly and you cant add the right ammount, why do all people add iodine, it is eveil NEVER ADD IODIN UNLESS YOU KNOW WHAT YOUR DOING!
infact dont even add it, do water changes.
chemicals - bad!

I have a lot of SPS corals..good coraline growth on my rocks but not so much my glass...I have a large fuge with Macros that suck iodine (and maybe stronium) and I run large carbon once a month...
Stronium is going "somewhere" but I can't prove it's "helping" the corals or coraline...I just don't want it to go below NSW levels...

Efforesce what kind of pre mixed salt you use?You can always rely on what your premix says it has in it...

I thought I was the only person I knew with one of those.
