Just trying to get an idea of how often everybody is cleaning their glass. Seems as if I cant make it past 3 days. Maybe I have a problem.:notsure:

I clean mine almost everyday regardless if I see anything or not, if I wait too long then I have to go in with a razor blade.

Do you have nuisance algae in other areas? I have no other algae problems and its only a light film that forms on the glass, I can live with that little bit.

Well let me try to describe what I see. My back glass is almost covered with green algae. My strainer is brown and the front glass gets green also. My sand bed is also getting brown. I just did a water change on sat. it only stayed clean until wed.

My actinics come on at 7am and off at 8pm. My daylights come on at 8am and off at 7pm. Then I have lunars through the night. Is this too much????

I was having the same problem.......turns out the tank was getting way too much light. I had about 12 hours of my daylight bulbs per day. I've moved my tank out of any sunlight and cut back the hours of my lighting. My actinics come on at 8:00am, the daylights come on at 10:00am and go off at 6:00 pm and my actinics go off at 8:00pm and my lunars are on for the rest of the time. I also have some great water flow in there and things seem to by doing well.
