How often do you drain your skimmer

I have an Aqua C Remora skimmer and I'm curious how often everyone has to dump their waste. I think I remember some people saying once a week but I'm having to do mine every day. Is this right?

What dose it look like?
Dark brown to black is good
Tan clear not good

cleaning of the collection cup is not one of those things that is a constant from one tank to another.. every tank is diferent so eack that will have it's own amount of DOC's in the water colum... maybe you have more life in your tank than others.. maybe you skimm wetter than others..
so it vaires on amount you get... but keep the cup clean.. the cleaner or more ofthen you clean.. the better.. this is because they ( the skimmer) work better when the neck is clean)

It is kind of more of a tannish color but I also don't have any fish yet. Also, can you use tap water to clean out the skimmer box or do you have to use ro water?

I do mine about every two days, that thing sucks out all kinds of crazy stuff and it only takes me 2 minutes to unhook, clean, and reinstall.

I clean mine every day but once every two days is more practical

Not trying to be a wise acre, but drain it as often as it needs it. As stated, this will depend on your particular set up.

yes using tap water to clean ur equipment is fine.

tap water is what i use... with the amount of crud and funk in my cup.. that little stream of ro/di water will take me forever to clean the cup...
