i feed every other day. i only have 1 goby in a 14g, so he doesnt have a big appetite and i dont want my trates to go up. when i get my other 2 fish ( i have been waiting forever for them to come in stock
) i will probably feed every day.

Everyday, once per day... sometimes I will feed them twice a day but that's rare.
Mr. Yellow Fish... I leave him algae to eat all the time since tangs are constant grazers. :happyfish:

Twice a day here....interested in reefkprZ response, can you explain what you are feeding? Do you ever leave your tanks' side(s)?

Small octopus is fed once a day, big octopus is fed twice a day (would only feed once a day but you should see the reaction), the seahorses are fed 3 times.

Once daily, unless I go off schedule and I might feed them twice a day. However, I just reduced to a 24g and Only have 2 clowns in there so I might switch to every two days.

I feed the chromis I have in QT at least twice a day and the other fish tanks 1-2 times a day. When the chromis go into the 65g I will feed that tank 2x day always, as the chromis are Always hungry and very active, I would assume they burn a lot of calories

*S* that response, usually draws someones interest as it sounds like I am throwing convention to the wind and laughing in the face of most established knowledge.
but to clarify I shall draw it out a bit.
OK first. the list of types of foods I feed
formula one pellet
formula two pellet
prime reef flake
new life spectrum thera a+
home made food containing scallops, mussels, quahogs (in this case little necks), seaweed selects green marine algae, Dulse (red kelp), omega one pellets w/garlic, ocean nutritions formula one flake, cyclopeeze, shrimp, whitefish, squid, tillapia, mysis shrimp by omega one, and many other ingredients as they are available at the seafood counter when I shop.
cyclopeeze,
daphnia,
rotifers,
formula one frozen
formula 2 frozen
marine cuisine frozen
omega one frozen krill
omega one frozen silversides
squid
skimmate (yes I said skimmate)
theres more but I cant think of them off the top of my head.
Now the feeding schedual: (note this isnt exact and I dont stick to it precisly everyday, this is just a general "about what I do")
4:30am lights off. wake up, walk down stairs, thaw small amount of frozen food for lps, be it cyclops, daphnia, rotifers, or the like.
5:30-6:00 am if lights are on before leaving. couple pellets or flakes for fishes. enough for one or two pellets each. very little.
3:50ish pm. get hame thaw one cube of homemade food (about 1/2 or 1/4 portion of standard prepacked food), feeds everything in tank.
5:00pm random food could be anything on the list
7:00pm one pellet per fish
9:30pm (1/2 hour after lights out) more meaty stuff for the LPS that feed after dark.
thats about how I feed. the portions are pretty small, BUT in the end it is a signifigant amount of food, if you desire to feed in this manner you must have a VERY precise water change and tank maintinence ritual, you also have to build up to this level of nutrient influx very slowly. if you just start feeding this often with out building up to it your nutrient levels will spike and algaes will over run everything. I do 25% water changes once a week, and 50% once a month. I clean my skimmers several times a week. this is dangerous to new tanks. I defiantly dont reccomend this feeding habit to begginners. in fact., even highly expirienced reef keepers have problems with water quality when attempting this. you have to be SOLID on your maintinence. and have a well balanced system including filtration, cleanup crew, detritivores etc. this should not be attempted by anyone.
