How often should I feed a Snowflake Eel

I've been feeding my little Snowflake Eel every other day, the same time I feed my Lions. But he seems hungry the day he doesn't get fed. In fact, today he ate one of my hermit crabs. Not a big deal but I'd like to know if maybe I should feed him every day. Also how much? He's about 6" long.

In my opinion, you are not feeding him too little. You could be feeding him less. Eels don't need to be fed every other day. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I would only feed them twice a week.

i feed my snowflake everday. but snowflakes grow on how much you feed them. if you feed them alot they will grow fast if you dont feed them everyday then they wont grow as fast.
if i were you i would feed him like 2 krills or 2 silversides a day just to keep him satisfyed just so he dosnt eat any other fish/inverts.
i have gone a couple days without mine eating but he didnt eat any crabs or anything.

Thanks. Usually he's pretty peaceful, I don't know what got into him today to eat that hermit crab. After that, I gave him a few krill and then he went back into his cave all happy.

small eels should get fed more often than larger ones. every other day for a growing eel shouldn't be too much, just don't get crazy with the feeding.

Just a caution into the wind: too much feeding of an eel can cause liver failure. For an eel that is still in it's early years, every other day I would suggest. When It is an adult I would recommend once a week. Of course that diet changes eel to eel.

I fed mine 2 times a week. I can imagine that in the wild they do not get very many chances to eat....

Thats excatly right. Even more so for smaller eels. But like I said it depends on the age/maturity of the eel. Later on down the road, every other day will do more harm than good to an adult eel.

Which one? lolol. My Juvenile is doing great! Hes eating very good and is starting to brown on the top, just like my wife's cookies
My adult is being his typical grandpa self, he doesn't really do much except hover out of his cave and watch people go by (it's a lonely life in a species only)

hahah, The last thing I need is my 5 foot Favagineus getting back his hunting instincs. I would never be able to put my hands in the water again lol.
