I have read that you should, and I do, change them every 12 months. I just recently chaged mine after a year and the corals seem 'happier' (may just be my imagination
)

If they aren't overdriven, they can last 18-24 months, but I'd change them around the 18 month mark.

JP...many people feel they can keep clams under T5's. I have a combo unit from Current that has MH's and T5's. Clams do well that I have but is the the MH's or T5's??? I do not know. But when I changed the T5 bulbs recently
all the inverts seemed to have more color/'open' more.
