how safe/wise?

is it to add peppermint shrimp and/or emerald crabs to a reef?
1st. will peppermint eat polyp type corals?
2nd. I have some bubble algae I would like to get rid of.
will the emerald end up killing anything,eg. (my turbos,astreas,cleaner shrimp,sixline,cherub?)

I say go right ahead and put both of them in. My peppermints have been just fine and have never touched any of my polyps or other corals. I have heard of isolated cases where they will attack Yellow polyps but that is because of their very close similarity to aptasia. I have never heard of any other problems with them though.
The Emerald will be a great addition for you since you have bubble algae. Mine also have eaten hair algae sprouts too. I have found emeralds to be very docile and have never seen them hurt/attack anything. I have turbos, a sixline, and hermits and he is just fine with those. IMO both will be a great addition to your reef.
