how to add a auto top off system

I read a post that some one wanted to add a auto top-off system. Everyday i have to add about a galoon to my refugium. Is there a cheap way to add something to the top of the refugium that will add water when the refugium gets low???????

I tried to email you a link to some DIY plans. But you have it set up not to receive email. I don't think I can post it on here. It's a whole data base full of DIY plans for all kinds of stuff, here is a screen shot of a cheap and easy top off. It cost me 6 dollars and works fine.

where can I find some rigid air line? I could not find any at lowe's....

I didn't use ridged lines, but try your LFS, the one near me has them.

Heres a picture. I used flexible line and passed it down thru the handle to hold it at the bottom of the jug. The stopper is a rubber sink stopper that you can get from wal-mart for 88 cents.

I had the same quetion and so instead of doing something really complicated I did something simple. It cost me a bit more money but Its worth it. I got a top off system that has a tube that hangs in the tank, it detects the waterlevel. THe tube is hooked up to a box that you can plug a ph into. When the level is low the Power Head turns on and takes the water from your resevoir tank into your main. I took an L shaped tube and have it hang over my tank, and to solve the problem of the tank water syphoning into my reservoir tank the tube is 5inches above the water level when its at its highest. My total "rig" cost me about 80$.

I used a float swotch and a solenoid valve and hooked directly to ro/di. Never have to refill anything.

the bucket has to be above the refugium corect? And also how high should i put the gravel cleaner, where i want the water line to stay at? and also how does the syphone start.

how does the syphe start and where do i place the airline tube? should the line with the gravel cleaner have water in it???? thanks for the help
