Just ordered a Red Tree Sponge from SWF. I have a Yellow Tree Sponge which looks great but have had a difficult time getting it to stay upright. Unfortunately, my sand bed is somewhat shallow - only about 3", but I have quite a bit of live rock. If just planted in the sand, the yellow falls over if my shrimp or snails crawl on it. Now I have it propped up with small pieces of live rock, but I still wish it was more sturdy. Does the root have to be in sand? Will it attach to live rock if I put it in a hole it in the rock? Anyone have a tip on how to best secure the tree sponge? Thanks.
