Hi!
I have a 150 deep reef tank with two cannister filters, protein skimmer and a powerhead. How can I arrange my protein skimmer(hang on), powerhead to create a current that will bebeneficial to all life in the tank?

Do you have some pictures? That may help understand the issue. Also what are you trying to accomplish? Some important things to consider are surface exchange, what types of corals fish, etc. all determine flow needs.

Surface exchange can easily be accomplished with the returns from your canister filters.....Your protein skimmer will add very little to your flow and shouldn't be used as such, but it can aid in a little flow, but it should come from PH's......

I placed a powerhead 8" below water level to the right, centered.
I'm going to paint the back black and cover the window.

I have a few coral, pipe, mushroom, whip (I think that is what the 'cattail' looking one on the top is, but correct me if I'm wrong. I just want everything happy. I have clowns, hippo tang, pj cardinal, firefish goby, huma triggerfish, yellow longnose butterfly, fiji puffer, flame angel. All the rock is live as is the sand (half crushed coral/half live sand). I think I have an anemone and some worms that look similar (some go back into rock when touched and some only shrivel their tentacles). Some hermit crabs are in there, somewhere, also.

Check out Hydor FLO rotating water deflector. I have them on my returns and they work well for me. They are about $10. Each.

what's your current flow rates for what you do already have? You're probably going to need to add some powerheads. Koralias aren't took expensive but make a huge difference.

I will see about getting the koralias, they seem like they would do the trick. I have not had good luck with suction cups, I keep wires taught so that nothing falls.

The Koralias are actually suction cups with magnets. They hold very well. I like the wave maker idea I may pick up that head.

Yea the suction cups on the Koralias aren't really needed since as mentioned they have a magnet that you stick on the outside so they're not going to go anywhere.
