How To do this.

Ok Due to lack of room on my Cabinet doors. And the amount of space that I have From the doors to the Brace on the back of the Cabinet. I am having to do a Sump/fuge in a way I have not seen anyone on here talk about.
So I have 2 10g tanks and a 20g that I will need to hook up together. Now the sides can be drilled. But I dont know if that would be the best way. Has anyone here done this? And does anyone have any advice for this.

It can be done, don't have any advice on how to do it, sure someone else will chime in. You might get better results if you use a more specific title, and post it in the DIY forum. Why such small tanks? My buddy has a 40 gallon breeder under his 210.

I woudln't drill them. There's too much chance that they will break as you try to get them under your tank. I would just use a few U tube siphon hoses. I've used them for years and as long as you properly maintain your tank, you shouldn't have a problem with them.

Well Its a 120. But the Space between the Cross members of the stand make it impossible to get the 55 in there.

Just make sure the tanks are not tempered glass... they will shatter as soon as you try to drill them. Good luck!

Someone on here has a similar setup. I can't think of who. They have the fuge raised about 6" and two holes drilled near the top. Then they had bulkheads through the holes attached to 90 degree fittings going straight down to the sump. It looked real clean. I'm sorry I can't remember who it was.

you should be able to pull the face plate support out on one side or the other and slide a bigger tank under the stand, then reattach. Maybe you can't haven't seen your stand. I wouldn't try and put a 55 under there, its way to tall. Can't get anything in or out of the 55 when its under the tank.

Yep That's the other reason that I wanted to go this way.
I do like the 6 inch lift idea though.

I just cut the end out of my stand, I wanted to put in a sump/fuge and my stand has 3 braces on the back, making it impossiable to let the 30gallon long tank slip thru. The brace in the middle was the stopping point for the sump/fuge. I simply took a jig saw and after measuring and marking, cut the end out, leaving plenty of support on the ends and sides. My 110 gallon tank was already set up and has been for almost a year now. This was easy easy to do, I have to admit, I was sooooo afraid tho! lol!! I think I would go with something shorter than a 55,your only 10 gallons different than mine, and that 55 would make it hard to reach over into for anything needing to be done in there. Good luck!
