How to feed fish while away.

If I were to leave town for a few days how could I feed my fish? I have a maroon clown, damsel, and hippo tang. I bought an automatic feeder that I could use for the pellets for the maroon and damsel, but are there any ideas on how to feed the hippo? Or are there any other methods or tools I could use?
-Thanks

He will be ok if you’re only going to be gone for three days; four max. What I would do, if it were mine, would be to feed it well on a sheet of nori the day before you leave. If you have any algae in your tank, he’ll munch on it while you are gone.
Good luck man.

Yep make sure your water level is topped off that more important as you can use a weekend feeder or a mechanical feeder. I suggest and use Tunze osmolators on my tanks and never have to wory about running too low or high.

is there anyway you could get a house member... or neighbor to feed your tank, add some water while youre gone.? its not much to ask for and its not that hard to do... im currently on vac... been away for a week and have another week to go before i go home... i asked my bro if he could take care of it while i was gone.... he calls whenever he has any questions about it... so its all good.

if im going to gone for less than 3 full days I just feed my fish right before I leave maybe a bit more since they'll eat everything pretty quick. and i'll leave a sheet of nori. if im going to longer I ask my apt manager to feed them. be careful tho once I came back in town to find that my roommate had fed a whole bag of krill to my fish in about 5 days crashing the tank.

The food isn't the main concern. The fish would be fine for a week without eating. Your Sg is the issue. You will need to have someone top off the water that evaporates. Mark a line on the tank and supply the water for whomever is watching your house. Tell them to be sure the water level is ALWAYS at that line. Better yet, just go buy an auto top off unit. Then you won't have to worry.

Yep get a Tunze osmolaotor, fill up a reservoir and go. The SG will stay set.

Question on the tunze.I looked at a picture of this item but I'm still confused.Does it come with some type of holding tank for the water and then auto top off for you ? Or do you need to connect this to a water source?

I'm gone alot during the winter months 7-10 days at a time. All i have is someone to do the top offs. I have the water ready in gal jugs. they get fed 1-2 times , I have the food all ready to add. The more your prepaired the easier it is.

It looks to me like you need to provide the holding tank. What I'm wondering is how the water gets to the DT is their a provided pump?

I've got one of these tunze 3155's on my tank and I absolutely love it. I use a clear rubbermaid container sitting in another one of the same size for strength and drilled small holes in the lid for the hoses from the included pump. Works like a charm!
