How to frag ricordia?

I have never attempted to frag anything before but I have a blue ricordia that I would like to frag.
It is about the size of a 50cent coin when fully open and I've had it for a few months now.
What should I do to get this guy to fragment and spread?
Is there a sure way with easy to follow instructions on how to frag these guys.
I just don't want to kill it.

I have never done this cuz I don't have the guts to cut my ric either but I have read that you cut them in half just like a normal mushroom and they grow into 2 seperate pieces. Maybe some one that has done this can chime in?? HTH. -pecc

sharp razor blade and cut the center mouth in halves or four quadrents. Cut it in a single, deep swipe. I have done this many times with other mushrooms.

That sounds simple enough.
Should this be done with the mushroom in water or could I take it out of the water to cut it?

Either way is fine, but for me it's easier to frag out of water.
