I am interested in some how attaching the corals I have to the rock fixtures I have. I heard somewhere about some sort of glue? Some coral I have are oddly shaped that they can't sit atop a rock, so I need another form of attachment.
thnx

I use 2 methods. For Polyps and small things I frag I use gel based super glue. for larger corals I use a 2 part apoxy called holdfast (I think thats the name). There is also another apoxy called Aquastick. Both are great and cure underwater.
If using the gel based super glue take a towel and dry the bottom of the frag and surface of the rock you are attaching it to then apply glue. Let it dry for 30 seconds and you are good to go.

shotgun: aqua stick sounds good. Is it readily available in lfs's. I just take the rock and coral out to glue them? or is it done in the tank? please advise.

My LFS carries the Aquastick and Holdfast. Same product but Holdfast is much cheaper. I believe they are both common in LFS's.
What I do is acclimate my coral and when it is done acclimating I make the apoxy, by squishing the 2 parts together. Then I take the frag and dab it dry with a towel and push the apoxy onto it. (I try to work it into the cracks as best as I can) then stick it in your tank and push it (the frag) onto the rock you want it on. Then it will dry and cure on it's own underwater. Works great.
Please note the apoxy is white so you will want to try to apply it in a way that it can't be seen.

I use gel super glue on all frags. I have seen a few people say the epoxy gets too warm when it is used and may kill corals. Now that being said I have seen many peoples tanks in person that use it all the time and never had a problem with it. Reefer Madness wont even guarantee frags if it is used. If you don't like the super I wouldn't hesitate the epoxy but I find the glue works and is found at any store.

Use a needle or pin and pin them in place quick fast and easy, and 99% of hobbyists have dressmaker pins or sewing needles around.

I set rocks on mine....... 10 pound rocks... Not really.
super glue gell, epoxy, and yes sometimes I just pin them under a small rock untill they adhere themselves depending on what type the coral is.

Just received my order from SWF.com with green ric and umbrella mushroom. The ric was attached to a piece of rock so that was cake attatching to rock in the tank. But the umbrella wasn't attached to anything :notsure:
. Do I put super glue onto the base of the coral??? Sounds like it would burn to me.

put it in a shallow dish with some sand or rubble and in a day or two it will attach to some of the sand/rubble then you can glue the sand/rubble to a rock. Or
you can take a piece of bridal mesh and hold the shroom against a rock it will secure eventually
or
you can just rubberband it down
or you can take a needle with a cut square of rubber band and pin it to a rock there are many ways to do it take your pick. good luck

Super Glue GEL is the best to use. Dry both areas, apply glue, place in water, and give a small twist. Once the water hits the glue it heats up and dries very quickly.
