how to get flow in and out of the rocks?

I have a 29 with a good amount of rock. Its been a long time since i read up on diatoms but I believe they can come with lack of flow. And the only places I have diatoms is behind the rocks. I see most people with their PHs up top. Do I just need to get some more power heads?
And what are some tips on keeping your sand nice and white? And how do you clean it?

power heads will fit that problem. i have 2 on the back side of my tank blowing right into my rock. well sort of blowing on. it goes right into a passage way on both ends. the clowns love to go in there and flw on the current. its funny to watch. probly for a 29g i would say 1 should do ya just fine

Ill see if I can get a small power head at the flowing behind the rocks. And maybe 2 koralia 2s....
I have 2 maxi jet 1200s just sitting around from a previous tank but just one of those in the 29 and the sand goes everywhere.

yea i would say try a small one. if its blowing the sand around try and face it a little upwards to see if that stops it. good luck with it. i have had similar issues with setting a PH.

Yeah i have one koralia, I like those because they look good and they have a very sturdy mounting system. I have a cheap one that will just slowly move to where its pointing in the sand.

speaking of such...I have a question as well...this may or may not be the right time for this....but if I have a 75 gallon tank, what is the max power head that I can put in my tank...

i think you want to turn the tank over about 30ish times. 20-30 I think, somewhere in that ballpark.
So that being said 2 maxi jets 1200 would be 2400GPH which is 32 times.
I would do just 2 mxi jets, bc then you would probably have low flow sections, like I do in my rock.
