I have 2 tangs in my tank. I have put romaine lettuce on a clip on the side of the tank, with no results. They won't eat it. Any ideas?

Yup got lots of idea..most of them don't involve your tangs though :D
It's best to feed your tangs Nori or seaweed selects. There is very little nutritional value to the lettuce you are trying to get them to eat

If you can, get your hands on some caulerpa. Tangs love thsi stuff and will chow it in no time. It is also fairly easy to cultivate in your tank so your fish will have a constant source of nutrition, and can eat whenever they like!

I've seen tank eat lettuce, though they seem to like seaweed products better. Try that one, if not, I agree they're simply carnivores.
Buy one of those veggie clip, get the nice one with the little waffle-like clip, so the tangs can eat it through the little holes without having to bite it off the clip. Most of the time, the seaweed got torn apart and sucked into the filter, resulting no food for the tangs :D .

Don't feed lettuce! It has no nutritional value at all. If you want your tang to stay healthy, give it a varitey of foods, but stay away from lettuce!

Try putting your lettuce in the freezer first it will then wilt when you put it in the water, My tangs always seemed to enjoy it that way. seperate the leaves of the head and just put in a freezer bag. I always used the lettuce seaweed combo and had the fattest healthiest tangs around. Also look in your oriental section of the market for seaweed you can get sheets for awhole lot less money then the pet stores.
Hope this helps

I fed my yellow tang romaine lettuce, boiled it a few seconds first and the fish loved it. then I learned on here about seaweed selects and switched to that. It's pretty cheap and much better for them. I have calerpa but the tang and the dwarf angel were eating so much of it I had to add something else.
