how to go about it?

I currently have sand mixed with crushed coral, however i just want to go to sand.. how can i go about this??

remove and replace it all. you wont be able to get the CC out by itself.

I agree with salt.. unless you have some sort of sifter you plan on using..
You're trying to do this in your already established tank, correct?
It's going to be a pain in the butt to be sure...
I think if I had to do this I would first get the sand I plan on putting into the tank and let it cure in another tank or bucket for a while.
Then once it's cured I would slowly take out sand from the established tank cup by cup and then replace with the sand in the other tank/bucket.

you could use a shop vac too. just do it with your water changes
