how to move an anemone?

Sorry if this has been asked before.
I have a pink tip anemone who is located at the bottom of my tank attached to a piece of LR. Once a day he shrivels up to practically nothing, sometimes completely in a ball. I always think he's dying, then later he comes out fully. He's been in there only a week.I think he might do better on top of a piece of rock, closer the the lights. Anyone have any good tips on moving him?
Also, what/how to spot feed him and how often. I tried some squid (frozen but thawed) shoved into the bottom of a plastic straw. I'm pretty sure he ate it. I don't want to starve him...or overfeed....what to do?
Thanks!

Might just doublecheck the current but if hes attached I wouldnt move him. He would move on his own if he didnt like it. They sometimes seems like they are stuck, but within seconds he can move to a new spot if he chose to do so on his own.

I took some pics of my anemone in his new location...I gently picked him up and moved him. He looks soooo much better.
I don't think my lights are bright enough..looking into getting a new hood for my Eclipse 29 to use better lighting (and a better skimmer!)

I know you already did, but in the future dont move them. Like everyone else said they will move on thier own to the spot in your tank they like. Unfortantly it seems thier favorite spot is in the back where you can't see them at all.

I was so worried he was too far from the lights....mine aren't the brightest (neither am I apparently!) I'll learn...
Little bugger is back into a ball again this am. If it's anything like the last couple days...he'll emerge all shriveled then by eveing be in full bloom again. He's making me crazy....

they all do this ...sometimes more than others...I found out that they do that to get rid of their waste.. or if they get their hands on a tasty treat..lol...don't worry it will always do that

Mine moved into like the darkest part of the tank. I was worried about him for a bit but they know what they need to survive. Just let him do his thing and find a spot that he likes.
I also feed mine every three days. He gets a cube of mysis shrimp thawed in a bit of water. Then i take a turkey baster and squirt it directly into his center.

He's still where I put him last night....looked like crap most of the day...all withered. Now, just like last night, just before the lights go off he looks great. I'm freaked that he'll croak and wipe out my tank (been reading anemone horror stories.) I spend alot of time perched on the floor staring at him for signs of death..

tank seems to be doing good..still have all the fish.
I hate the plastic plants too...wanted to get some red kelp ( I think) but it was sold out. Those are leftovers from my freshwater tank. As soon as I find something else, they're gone. Any good recommendations?

What are your water readings for ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, PH, SG and temp? Obviously amm and trite need to be zero, but what is your nitrate and SG reading? These are VERY important. The nitrate should be 5 or under, SG should be 1.025, PH should be 8.2, temp at 78 degrees. The ph and temp can be off by a point or two (ph down a point, temp up by a point) as long as it stays constanty at wherever it is. What lights do you have on this tank? What is the wattage?

ammonia 0
nitrite 0
ph 8.2
sg 1.024
trates were 10 yesterday(lowest I've had is 5), tonight tested at 20...doing 1/3 water change tomorrow
temp 78
eclipse 29...2 20 watt lights, which is the highest I can run in this hood. Looking into another hood with stronger lights.

Per the description... Power Glo High intensity light for freshwater or saltwater aquariums promotes coral, invertebrate and plant growth.
Again...looking into another hood. Can't put anything stronger in this one.

The description is stupid, the Power Glo lights are normal output florescent bulbs and are worthless, nothing will survive under those, esp. not an anemone. The anemone may blow up nice and big, but that's because he is starving. He is increasing his surface area to try and get what light he can.

OMG..... get that anemone back to the store and maybe try to recoup a little of what you paid. He will not make it to long and as stated before you dont want him dying. With those lights you should have only fish; no plants, anemone's, or corals.
Spelulation... when you say temp should be constant, what is "constant"? within 5 degrees, 1 degree, .2 degrees?
