How to move Maxima clam from rock???

So I have a 3" maxima clam I want to remove from a piece of rock and place the clam in a different tank but I do not want to move the rock with the clam attached. The rock wont fit in this tank.
Do you all have any suggestions what would be a good way to remove it without hurting its foot/appendage?
Thank you

It can be done CAREFULLY by gently rocking the clam and using a razor blade to cut the byssal threads as they come to bear. This often takes quite a while to do, so again, BE PATIENT and BE GENTLE.

Yeah
This is an option I was thinking of doing. I think this is my best bet. I thought about using a hammer and chisel but I was afraid I might damage the shell with the force of chiseling the rock.

In the future, try getting a flat, dish-shaped piece of LR about the size of the clam, or an old clam halfshell, bury it just beneath the substrate and sit the clam over it. Once the clam attaches, you'll be able to place it at will.

I did this and it worked flawlessly. I cut the byssal threads flush with a razor and all is well. It has been fully open for the past two days in its new home.
Thanks again for the advice
