When I get my LR, whats the best way to position it?
In all the magazines and books, it looks like people make a wall of live rock against the back wall of the tank. How do they stay up????

live rock is very porous and most of it when wiggled together locks kinda like a puzzle piece. when you get your live rock you will understand. ass for postioning it do it however you want. most people build walls because it make a greater surface for more coral. one last thing if your planning on getting a fish that needs alot of swimming room like a tang. make sure you position your rock to where there are large open areas. :D

Its all a matter of taste...go slow and make sure you really like it, cause its a b@#$h to move after your live critters and fish are in...
You'll see how the pcs fit, and usually larger pcs go on the bottom..some folks build right across, and others keep the ends low and build up the center..its just what you like..
Have fun creating a masterpiece.. ;)

I agree about lots of holes/cracks for the tangs... mine also gets ticked if he can't swim BEHIND the rocks... so I move some forward or tip it top against glass..
Also, I have my rock up on frags (smaller pieces) so that the sand that gets underneath the rocks gets cleaned. Moving the rocks up lowered my nitrAtes.
