I have ran into a problem recently that I could use some old salt advice on. I put some xenia in the display tank and it has spread to a large amount, thats not hte problem. The problem is that my nitrates are ate 0, and the cheato in my fuge has slowly been dwindling to the point now there are about 3 golf ball size chunks left. Im not too concerned per say about the cheato, but I am concerned that I have noticed a drop in pod population. I realize the Xenia feeds on nitrates and I dont really want to throw out clumps of it.
So my question is what can I do/get to promote pod population? I do put in pieces of food in the fuge every so often so they have something to eat or breakdown and decompose.
