How to raise salt level in tank

Hi everyone. I noticed this morning that my specific gravity in my tank was low. When I used my hydrometer it was at like 1.019-1.020 which is really like 1.021-1.022 because they read two off and my hydrometer is old. If I wanted to raise the specific gravity, should I just do a water change and make the new water with slightly higher SG?

Well, for starters (in case you dont already know) hydrometers are very inaccurate. Get a refractometer if you can. When you lower or raise salinity, you must do it slow. You could change out a gallon with higher salinity, wait awhile and test again. EDIT: since you have a 72g tank. But with a hydrometer, you could be more off than you realize. Hope this helps.

When I want to raise my SG I add saltwater instead of RO fresh water in my top offs. When the SG gets close to the SG I want, then I leave it alone. When I do my next water change then I make that water the SG I want, it isn't a big jump that way.

I'd go with flowers idea since a gallon water change may not be the best depending on your tank size. If you had a 5 gallon tank for instance and you swap out a gallon for higher salinity water you're gonna have problems.
top off with saltwater for a while until it gets to where you want it, nice and gradual.
