MY tank has recently developed a very fine white film on the glass that I cant remove. It is a glass tank and I have tried everything to remove it. I tried to scrape it off, wash it off, I even drained the tank and tried some windex on it. Nothing removes it.
Anyone else ever run into this or know what may have caused it? How do I get rid of it??? Is there any good glass cleaner that i can try?

What are your calcium levels?? If they are to high calcium will form a "coat" on everything...

Oh, it's empty...
That's tough...I would try a steel wool on a small spot and make sure it doesn't scratch and see if that'd work.

Thanks for the vinegar suggestion. After a week of trying to scrape that stuff off with everything imaginable a little bit of vinegar cleared it in seconds!!! thanx again

Paint Thinner and goo gone is 2 things you never want to use in a fish tank, unless u plan to never use it with water in it. The reason stating is that paint thinner and goo gone will leave a chemical residue behind that is harmful to fish.

I thought I read the tank was empty.
I also thought it was on the outside.
You are correct, never on the inside.
