How to replace my center brace

sounds like a 55 breeder tank. I have a 58 breeder that is simliar to what you are talking about and it doesnt have a center brace. Just remember is you do this it will have to be empty AND be refilled outside so if something goes wrong it wont make a mess just to be cautious. as with any tank modifications this needs to be done.

It's a little longer than it's width but, it's still pretty close to a cube looking tank (by the way if anyone ever considers it, it is a gorgeous tank).
sorry misunderstood,

the tanks are so narrow that there is hardly any side load . they just added the brace to hold the tops in place for the 24" lights.
Actually, (not trying to be rude, just point this out) this statement is inaccurate. Water pressure is dependent on depth alone. It doesn't matter if the tank is 10inches wide or 100inches wide, the water pressure will be the same on the front and back glass. However, the longer a tank is, the more total pressure there is across the front and back, making the glass bow.
Hope that made sense.

Yes, I have a 55 breeder as well, and it's almost cube shaped. Mine doesn't have any center brace either, although the glass is much thicker than that in normal tanks.
