well the tap its connected to is open all of the time, but you see the hoses with the valves on the ends? you close those when you dont want it to make water. the whole thing is powered by water pressure. you dont really "turn it on".

Tito...set it up anywhere you like, but the filtered water has to run somewhere. Most people run it into a tub, or 45 gal. rubber trash can. It depends on how much water you are making per day/week. You can run it straight into your tank, but unless you are monitoring constantly, there will be no way to know how much you are putting in. Your best bet is to run it into a tub or trash can, where you can save it and manually add it to your tank as needed.

Correct, but it's not a fast process, so don't plan on just turning it on when you need to top off your tank. Making RODI water is a slow process, so plan on storing it up and using it as needed.

uhm both? the black tube is waste water, which you can run down the drain or into a bucket to recycle. the blue tube is RODI water. theres another tube for just RO water.

Well let me join the party....Out of every av I have seen on here, including all of yours, that was the coolest ever. If I was a girl, I would have stolen it from you the minute you switched...

Very true. Check out my build thread (originally started by Scotts). I use a small PVC "ring" to keep on my finger, or in my pocket, to remind me that the water is ON.

i actually saw something on here, its like a timer that people attach to their sprinklers, and i guess you can attach it to the tap feeding your RODI. this way you can set it to turn off after 2 hours or whatever, and not have to worry about it overflowing. i definately need to pick one up. i think its a brilliant idea.

Unless you get it from a lab that sends ro/di water right from the tap

The rest of us don't have that luxury shiby

Does your lab store up that much, or do they just have monster filters and pressure that can process it that fast?
