How To Swap Tanks????

I am upgrading from my 100 gal. that has been running for a year, to a 180.
The problem is that the 180 has 70-80lbs of dead fiji rock in it along with all new sand (Not live).
How would I properly transfer my 100-120lbs of live rock and all of the livestock into the new tank?
Would this be the same as starting over.
And as I added new water to the 180, I filtered it through the old tank.
Thanks

I'm new to SW tanks but from what I read I'm guessing that youll have to add some live rock to seed the dead rock and maybe a little LS to seed your sand from your existing tank. Then wait for the cycle again and start adding your livestock one by one little by little.%% Thats what I would do.

I am up gradeing My 75 to a 120 right now. I set up the 120 and am cycling it as you would a new tank. Using some live rock and some live sand from my old tank to seed the tank. Cycle has only taken about a week and a half.
I was about to swap most of the stuff last night but I founs some flatworms
So I am treating them befor the move.

Here is a link to my diary of my progress so far.

it all depends on how is your new "live rock" and sand, is it live? and how much time do you have. I have move a 29 2 times and started a 29 and a 35 with no visible cycle. seed your new sand with some of the old and put a small peace of "cycled" rock in to help things cycle faster, when I moved I pulled all the rock out and put it in a tub with a power head then the fish and coral. both moves where at least a 5-hr drive the first time I put everything back in carefully the second I just dumped it all in I did not have time. I did (and do most of the time) 1/3 water changes weekly. I do run filtration that is rated for at least 2x the amount of water in my tanks how I would look at it is look at each coral and think about what it needs and if you can run both tanks for a while it should be a cake walk
