Okay, one of the first things we will need to know is what are you feeding and how often? Variety of foods is key with saltwater fish. I would go with a variety of meaty and vegetable matter. Mysis, krill, clam, brine, emerald diet, cyclops (good for corals), and some others would be excellent. Also put on the list some vitamins of some sort like zoecon.
For some of the corals, they definitely benefit from spot feeding, like the open brain coral, for instance.
Sun corals are one of those. It should be in the shade somewhere and it will need to be spot fed as it is not photosynthetic. If you shade it a bit, it will prolly also open up more. They take a while to acclimate and it should start opening up more.
I would say you are doing it right with the scallop. But be aware that they starve even in the most vigilant of fish keeper's tanks. You probably only need to feed the fish once a day to every other day. Overfeeding causes nitrate and algae issues.
Good luck with the tank and let us know how it goes. And....you must give us pics....we demand them...

Yes I am using the powder cyclops which doesnt seem to help with the feeding process any but i am still puffing the corals before i feed them with a medicene dropper. I have been feeding my plate coral, sun polyp (when opened), anemone, open brain all mysis, krill, and I also bought some sponge to try to get my marine betta to eat because he only likes to catch things such as ghost shrimp and as we all know they dont last long in the salt..Also my fish are eating the same but I am also feding them flake food and I mix it up. I am using a reef coral seachem vitamen, but anymore suggestions would be appreciated as far as the best vitamens. I have phyto and marine and bio plankton that i use three times a week. I forgot about my toadstool that I have (sorry) and yes pictures will be up when everything is out and pretty definately..
