How to tell if a condy anenomie is dead???!

alright, there was a ton of brown stuff coming off of my condy anemonie, so I took it out of the tank cause everyone warned me the damage they can do if they die in your tank.
He lost his color and shriveled up bad.
Was he dead?

Unless an anemone starts to disintegrate, it is not dead. Keep a close eye on it. If it starts to break up, pull it out.

I thought this too, but he changed color and looked bad, I'm new to this so I hope he was already dead.
Dont think it was... Like SCSI said unless they are melting they are alive..
When they expell waste they shrink up, change color, and look terrible..
Pretty much they are doing an internal waterchange...
Speaking of SCSI, where have you been?? We are having the frag meeting on the 10th

Some nems are shipped without water... he could still be alive. If you have another small tank you could drop it into, it might be worth trying. And it'll make a good story if you can say your anemone was in the trash and lived to tell about it

I've actually never been to a reef club meeting. I've been a member for 3 years, but I honestly don't participate much. I never have time to go to the meetings, and I don't know anyone anyway...
