Nooby.....I bought one on ---- and it didn't come with any instruction. Can any body tell me how to use this device...Do I have to calibrate it and how?

with most refractometers you use fresh rodi or distilled water and place three drops on the plate and close it. if your blue line is on 0 then it is already calibated. if not you should have a screw on the top just adjust it till you dorp the blue line to zero then titen it back up

do i use a distill water to calibrate it if it is require or i can just a water that i had in my R/O unit..

I only use distilled, but ive read many people using thier ro/di water, so it shoud be ok.

Yeah just like SignGuy suggested either RO/DI water or distilled water on the refractometer lens, close the lid, and you should see the line @ 0.....If not there is a cover on top, remove it and the little screwdriver that came along with the refractometer use that to adjust the line to 0. RO/DI water is purer than distilled....

I did use a R/O water to see if I need to calibrate it but the blue line was all the way down to Zero...In this case, there is no need to calibrate my refractometer..When I took some water from tank and did three drops to the lens and waited for 30 second..I look at it and little above half way from 1.020 to 1.030 so I am assuming it is about 1.026..I did comparison to my hydrometer and it is reading only 1.023 so which i should follow...
