A fuge is a seprete tank that has baffles in it so that water can be directed through a type of macro algea ( I use chato) so that it can aid with high phosphate levels and high traight levels. In a nut shell its another filter
here are a few pics a refugiums
There. It was the slang that threw me off. Fuge=refugium? I think I have very very very very basic understanding of what a "fuge" would be used for. Guess I need to look into this more aswell. Thanks!

you are definitely on a better road than i had started and many other people. i got my stuff piece by piece whenever i could afford it
id say something you are missing that many people overlook is a refractometer. youll love it.
a sump and a prefilter box (if your tank isnt reef ready) would be good so you could place your skimmer and other equipment down there instead of it being in your display tank.
so far the main things are:
liverock, live sand, a good fixture like yours, ro/di unit, refractometer, quarantine tank, a good protein skimmer, salt, powerheads like koralia powerheads. that must be about it

Ooooo... whats a "Refractometer"? Is it shiny? and the quarantine tank completely slipped my mind.

Yes its shiny and a must have COOL TOY!
refugium= A place to house and propagate macro algae for the use of mal-nutrient export.
A place for a "pod pile" A small pile of live rock so pods (bugs) can reproduce unmolested and then transfer to the main tank via return pump to feed your critters.
Sand bed. Either deep sandbed to help with de-nitrification through anaerobic zones deep within the sand (DSB). Or a shallow bed of sand for added biological filtration and propagation of micro infauna.

Berlin Sump BS-1, 23in x 12in x 14in <- looks like a Sump and Fuge combo. (google search should pull up results)
Captive Purity Refractometer with Light <- I think this looks cool, got good ratings on the site I am using to purchase my equipment.
Questionable:
Neptune AquaController Jr with Backlit Display + Temperature Probe + Direct Connect 8 <-- Would this piece of "testing equipment" be a replacement to a testing kit?

really hard to say. salifert would be good if they fixed the problems they were having recently. If youre lookinginto the neptune aquacontroller also look into the Reefkeeper 2 and compare them to see which one youd like better
refractometer with ATC is a must have to check your salinity/specific gravity.
the reefkeeper is cool in that it does many things, just like the aquacontroller. if the tank gets hot itll turn on fans or chillers, checks and controls your pH if you have something that can control it, many features on it for 270 (not including probe). also if your lights go off during a power outtage and resumes, itll let your metal halides cool down before turning them back on

This was in the item description:
This comes with a removable baffle which provides a refugium section. This also increases the water volume and depth of the sump.
