how you know your zoas are dead

well due to a tragic shipping error by fed-ex, some corals sat in a warehouse all weekend, So far the pink ricordea has lived and opened up beautifully. about one third of some yellow zoas died off, and of course the white and pink zoas that were the basis of the trade is definatly completly dead, my brittle stars are fighting over the rock to eat all the dead flesh. you can see the colony of yellows directly to the left most have good color. and appear to be starting to open. I am amazed a few made it through four days in a box, three nights two of them maine early summer weather, thats darn cold for coral.

That sucks.......
I had a trade like that go bad (post offices' fault). It took 4 days for me to get the package, but all the zoos I got opened up in about 2 weeks.......I didn't lose any of them.

the worst part is murph145 is in cali so shipping to maine wasnt cheap, let alone the cost of the frags. I really hope fed ex re emburses him for the cost of shipping and the insurance value (for whatever amount he insured it for).

I still find it so amazing how these coral make it over from places like fiji and indonesia, unbeleivable.

Corals are much tougher than we give them credit for, not that you wana go around abusing them, but think about what the original corals went thru to make it to your LFS and it's the same for websites.............Sorry to hear about your loss, but it will be up to Murph to file the report for loss

I agree completly, I dont hold fed exs mess up against him at all. I loved dealing with him. and will definatly conduct further trades or purchases with him especially now that I have upgraded my lights and can support lower light SPS. since he has one or two SPS types that I would like to have.
