How'd you get that on you????

So i've noticed that I have a bad hitchhiker snail in my tank for about a week now.. and i've just been waiting for the perfect time to catch it... yesterday was my day! I found it out in the open.. but noticed a strange 'tumor' on it... SOMEHOW the snail managed to pick up a mushroom frag that didnt attach well that went floating around the tank.... I asked him 'how in the world did you manage to pick that up?!' he didnt answer me though.. obviously he was unsure himself.
He is now in a side tank I have... he burries himself in the sand.. and all you see is a mushroom sticking up out of the sand
Anybody ever had anything weird like this happen? I've seen urchins pick up star polyps and anemone wearing hermits... but this is really strange!
Also... would it be evil of me to attach star polyps to one of my mexican turbo snails?

I will order my girlfriend to gimme her camera to take pics of this I plan on selling him to my LFS for 20 dollars US! haha.

Speg I too have a hermit with a red mushroom on his shell. At least I know where he is at all times..LOL
