Yes. It's a flower pot. It has been extending like that since I moved it higher in the tank. It used to be on the bottom with alot more flow.

440 watt VHO (2 110 Actinic - 2 10,000k Daylight)
CPR50 overflow into 10 gallon refugium w/ Bak pak 2r skimmer
Aquaclear 500 for flow and charcoal/phosphate
Rio 180 @ zoomed powerheads

Looking at it again that tank looks small. I saw a 46 bowfront at the lfs today and it looked fairly big. I guess what makes it look smaller is that you have large coral. Are those suckers big. Then again i only have a bunch of frags right now other than a volley ball sized leather. Not used to seeing a tank with full grown corals.

Both tangs are going to outgrow this tank, that is why I am putting a 125 gal in the wall this winter. the hippo tang was my first fish after my damsels and my cycling of the tank. The corals were all pretty small when I bought them also. Both tangs were only around 1 1/2" when I bought them. They will all have a bigger home soon. Thanks for your concern and also your comments.
BTW....the LFS that I bought the hippo tang from said he was a perfect fish for my first "real" fish and would be OK in a 46. That was before I knew about this site. I was young and dumb in this hobby!

What kind of chemicals do you put in it?
I dose B-Ionic 10cc of each part every other day.
I run a bag of ESV carbon in my aquaclear 24/7/365 and change it every 3 weeks when I do a 15% water change.
The best thing I did is add a 10 gallon refugium w/ colerpa algae in it. Since I set that up, I have not had to run a phosphate absorbant and my nitrates have not risen above 5ppm.
Not a chemical, but I also feed the corals D.T.'s every other day and some Marine Cuisine once every 10 days.
