1 regal angel (i know that they have a poor survival rate but they are just amazing fish!)
1hippo tang
1 convict tang
1 maroon gold stripe
1 snow flake eel
1 volitan lion
1 panther grouper (probably not though)
1 valentiini puffer
what do you think?? i understand that one or two of them might have to go

I'm sure you know what two. The eel and lion will be the only habitants after a few months. If the tangs are adult, you might be able to pull it off but it would be risky.

Lions usually eat anything in the tank that is smaller than them. My old roomate put a dwarf tiger shark with a lion and the shark was gone in about a week. Can you say $150 feeder fish?

Still pushing it in my opinion. Don't bother with the grouper either. That WILL outgrow your tank.
Both the eel and the lion will eat the clown (eels love clowns). Will try eating anything else they can get their mouths on. The lion will hunt during the day, and the eel at night. They pretty much will leave one another alone though. The puffer will be on the eels menu as well. He'll get him at night when sleeping and won't have a chance to defend himself.
The tangs won't get along in that size tank. Seems big to us, but imagine living your entire life in a small apartment with someone you hate. Eventually, you'd want to kill them!
Rethink your stocking plan and go one way or another.

Do a lot of research on Tangs. They hate each other and putting them together is usually a "no-no".
A Volitan Lion will out grow a 55 gallon.

Usually the tangs hates the one that has a similiar shape of it's own. I personally think a convict and a blue hippo will go together just fine, but just a thought though, blue hippos are known to be ich magnets. They don't like to be rejected by other fish either and they stress out easily. I would like to have one myself, which I will once I get a larger tank hopefully by next summer. Good Luck! :happyfish

Good luck with it then, but with the snow flake eel, be sure there's no opening at the top. They tend to crawl out and being on the floor for hours without you noticing if your not home and once you put him back in, he'll be up and swimming in no time. I would leave the lion in the 55 for now, but like it was mentioned, he will outgrow that tank eventually. My partner wants an snow flake eel as well, but I don't want one. They're fin nippers and hunts your small fish and inverts. Just my thought! :happyfish

I don't think the eel is going to bother the lion at all. I do not know if two snow flake can go together or not.
Maybe someone here would know. :happyfish
