One blenny per tank.. in your case.
Mandarins need 100+ lbs of LR..

it is not tyhte gospel but a recommendation - that you have 100 pounds of LR so that there will be a large enough pod population for your mandrin to eat. Which also means you have a tank that is pretty well aged so there are a lot of pods to begin with!
what size tank are you setting up sandman?

sandman-
sorry they are right. a 30 gallon is way to small for a mandarin. It won't get enough food and you will have to watch it starve. I think all the other fish will get along. I would be willing to say that the tank is getting close if not already full.

yeah i planed to put the mandrin in much later like 8 months.I have a 30L,how am supposed to fit that much rock in the tank? They eat other stuff dont they.I have seen pics of them in their in a 55gal.theres no way theres 100lbs of lr in a 55. I think later on i might try it and if it doesnt work out ill give it back for store credite thanks for the info.

If you are serious about the Mandrin Goby then you will definitely need a refugium with a tank that size. If not, even with a mature tank a Mandrin will go through the pod population of a 30 gallon in about 3 weeks then as the others stated he will starve. The refugium will allow a secure predator free place for pods to breed and grow which will help sustain the goby long term.

Actually, in a sense there is--a lot of those 55's have 75 lbs of live rock in the tank plus a refugium with another 40 lbs... still a lot better off than in a 30. that and i think the top 4 on your list will easily fill the tank.
and as for transferring pods from a q-tank, i think it'd be a bad idea...more likely to transfer ich than pods. :(

sandman12,
No. Normally Q tanks won't have anything in them except some pieces of PVC pipe or a rock or two for hiding. No substrate, little or no live rock and usually no lighting. Therefore no pods.
