howto get a stain out of a hat?

How should I get a blue sharpie stain out of a white hat? Thanks. I really need to know.

bleach would bleach the colored writing on the hat and whiteout would be a temp. fix.

Don't know about the marker stain, but one little trick that people don't know about regarding hats is....put it in the dishwasher. Sit it on top of a bowl or drinking glass, and every one of those sweat stains and rings will disappear, without the hat losing it's shape......

This is how I have always cleaned mine...don't know about fixing your specific problem though...I would try a bleach pen.
