I have an electric blue hermit which is quite large for your average "reef safe hermit". Then there is the Halloween hermit which is orange, and another orange one. These are at your own rish "reef safe".

I have seen these things at fish stores. They are HUGE,like I would't put them in my tank. They look like they would destroy the tank.

Do a search for "godzilla". Look for a member by the name of Leigh, they have/had a huge hermit crab and posted a few pictures of it.

FYI, most of the larger species of hermits are not reef safe and can be extremely destructive. 2-3" hermits would likely fall into that catagory!

LOL!! King Kong was the name of kinkfish's extra large hermit.
Here's a pic from kinkfish's post about King Kong.

I have three of these huge hermits, I always assumed they were scarlets hermits, just really big ones. They are destructive to a reef an I wouldn't recomend them in anything but a FO.

wow. They probably need their own tank. I wonder if they would fight each other if you put more than 1.

Yes, mine do fight for the good shells. They try to pull each other out of the shells or try to suffocate each other by dumping sand in to one anothers shell. Really quite funny.:D
