Human blood in my tank!

I was rearranging some rock work in my tank this evening and remembered that I cut myself at work today. Nothing big,
just a little scrap. However...when I washed my hands before entering the tank, I reopened the wound and noticed it was bleeding slightly. I know some went into the tank....not much but some. :scared: Has anyone ever done that before and will it be a problem? The tank is 3 weeks old. Done cycling!!! I was gonna wait a while till the Nitrates went up to about 20ppm before the first water change. About 5-6weeks....I want some stability in the tank..or however long it will take. maybe 7 weeks. Anyway I did not want to do a water change yet for that reason. Should I worry about this?

I bled in my tank a few weeks back.. I can't say it was a big deal. I did the same thing. I cut my self and didnt know it. stuck my hand in the tank and then noticed I was bleeding.
No problems from it that I can tell.

Nothing bad can happen to the tank, but something bad can happen to you, be sure you wash that cut out and maybe peroxide it very well, in the future if you have an open cut don't put your hands in the tank or wear gloves, you can get a nasty infection from Mycobacterium Marinum.

Theres roughly 9 or 10 zoonosis bacteria in marine water. Sticking open wounds into your tank is quite risky. I just had microbiology and that has made me kind of paranoid about the whole deal hehe.
ps- many of the bacteria that contribute to your nitrogen cycle are human pathogens, but you really don't have to worry about them as long as you are not immunocompromised and don't stick open wounds into the water.

i have had cuts on my hand that have heal in few days after being put in to the tank so i would not worry to much about hurting your tank as long as it is helthy reef :D
