Humu Humu Question

My thought is bigger is better. So if you can afford a 100+ gallon, go for it. You will be much happier with the bigger system.

Agree totally, buy as big as you have room for and can afford, big systems are much more stable...Or in my case buy as big as my wife will let me

I talked ZeroC (this is Stormy, his fiancee, I post under his name sometimes) into letting me get a humu humu a few months ago. He's in my 75 with a copper banded butterfly, hippo tang, and valentini puffer. He's tiny, 2" right now.
I love my humu humu, he's an awesome fish, and eats out of my hand (though he nips at my fingers). I'm careful not to fall in love with my other fish too much, as I have a feeling that sooner or later I will come home to find colorful bits of fishy swirling around the tank, and a humu humu with a big grin on his face

Fingers are crossed though

i had an undulate trigger for 3 years, loved her to death. had to keep her in a tank all by herself, ate the tank mates.
was hand tamed, could feed and touch her without getting bit. like having a pet dog in a bowl.

We have three triggers together in a 125. In the order of size:
Raz=Pinktail
Spaz=Undy
Taz=Picasso
Pink, when we rescued him, was in a tank with a shark, puffer, and two other fish, all were HUGE. The Pic was in a tank with my favorite Damsel (that the lfs owner let get eaten up-he is now out of business, thank goodness) and a couple other fish.
The Pink had been returned 2 times, and the Pic just got along. We watched both of these fish for several months before we purchased them. They got along with all their tankmates, in close quarters.
Anyway, on the point of the Picasso, we were lucky and got one that has the attitude, "Buzz off, leave me alone, you don't scare me" toward the Undy.
As far as your inverts, fagetaboutit!!! They all may be different temperments with other fish, but the inverts, all triggers with go for. We have button polyps and shrooms that they don't bother at all. We had a crab that was in a shell the size of a baseball..............bye, bye!!! We got 150 crabs to help with cleanup..........I think we have........oh.......maybe a dozen left.

I don't know what I was trying to get across in this post, other than, try your HumuHumu and see what happens. They ARE cute little buggers when they are tiny. We saw some teeny weeny ones at an lfs in FLA.
I like mine and he is so gentle with me I can almost pet him.
Try it.............good luck.

.............Later

I think we may go for it, but I am considering waiting til I can get a bigger tank. I added this cute little scooter blenny to the 55 1 1/2 weeks ago and he is soo cool. I don't have a real problem with the humu eating the inverts as my hubby only likes crabcakes (the big aggressive crab in the tank) can't stand the shrimp, but I dont want rock candy (the blenny) blueberry(the damsel), baked and broiled(greem chromis) to be fish food either....yes I know all of them are named after food, thats because hubby thought I would kill them instantly, the nano is now over 4 months old and all original fish are still alive, the 55g is about 6-8 weeks now....hmmm but they are sooo cool, I love the humu, maybe I will start thinking of names...
