:notsure: Has anyone had success with a humu trigger in a reef. My tank is 75 gal with 5 corals, a coral banded shrimp, and a mix of 20-30 snails and crabs? I have to take my humu out of my 240 gal fish only and don't want to give him up, Help!

Which humu is it. All triggers are humuhumu. There are some that are reef safe like the Hawaiian Black trigger (Humu Humu EleEle), Crosshatch Trigger, Bluejaw Trigger, Goldenback Trigger, Sargasum Trigger. These are ok in the reef, but they might eat ornamental shrimp.
I did some research and may buy a Crosshatch (if I can find one) or a Hawaiian black

I think he means the trigger that is commonly called HUMU HUMU or the picasso trigger, sorry not reef safe

Oh, if it's a Huma (Picasso) Trigger you meant then no they are not reef safe, they eat a wide variety of inverts.

All triggers are Huma Huma? The fish commonly and mitakenly refered to as huma Huma by lfs is Rhinecanthus aculeatus, actual common name Humuhumunukunuku apua, translates as 'fish with the needle and nose of a pig". The fish that actually has the official common name of simply Humahuma is Rhinecanthus rectangulus, sometimes know as the Black Picasso, or Rectangular Trigger.
