There is a major Hurricane coming my way. Can you all give me some ideas on how to keep my tank alive for the 5 to 7 days they are predicting us to be without power. I have live rock, coral and inverts.

Really the best way is to get a generator (you can rent them some places but good luck finding one right now). If that is not an option then the battery operated airstones would be a good idea and make up as much makeup water as you can. I would test the water everyday and do water changes as necessary. Keep the water moving and airated, and hopefullly the temps will not get too warm or cold.
Good luck I really feel for you guys right now.

I'm in the same boat. Luckly an inlaw rents, and sells generators from his shop. He said today he was 1 of 2 stores in the Calvert County reagon that had any generators left. My brother got one from him big enough to power 3 houses. He has to tow it home. He said he has a small one for me that is big enough for my refrigerator, tank, and maybe a tv. As of an hour ago I heard their were around 60 people waiting in line for a delivery truck to come to home depot up by DC. The had a few on that truck that people were waiting for.
good luck, I know I will need it. I live back in the woods. I almost have to cut up a tree every time we get a big storm anymore. I think it's because of all the rain this year. The ground is so saturated any wind stronger than 30mph seems to uproot trees.

I live on the Gulf Coast and I really suggest you purchase a generator and have some ro water saved up. The Gen is good to have in any case. You will neet to keep the pumps going at least. Good luck on the storm. Also make sure you get some gas cans and plenty of gas. Get it early before the rush. You can always use it in your car.

Ohh it's to late. It seems to be a rush for anything around here altready. We have had such bad weather this past year, so everyone takes no chances.

Having been without power for 7 days before I think I would be looking for a generator asap. Maybe call around inshore a way if there are none left locally.

If you can't get a generator, try a marine battery and an invertor. I had a resent thread going in Equiptment Forum on just this subject.
Maybe drive westward until you find a place with a generator. Doesn't need to be a big one, but you will also need enough gas containers to hold you up for awhile.
