Hurricane Dennis

Should this storm be a Cat 3 or 4 the least of your worries will be your cycle. You will be lucky if you still have a roof over the structure that houses the aquarium. I lived in New Orleans for 40 years so I know what you are going through.
Best of luck...but if that hurricane continues to strengthen you will have a monster to contend with.

Cindy made my power flicker a little here in New Orleans, but this one is going to be a lot worse (even is it misses us) for us over in Louisiana. Tomorrow is going to be tropical storm weather for us. I can only wish you the best of luck over in FLA.

Just compramise and get a UPS. Cheaper than a generator and will run powerheads/pumps for about 24 hours. Lights will have to stay off for a day but at least you will have your circulation. Although I'm not too sure it will run your chiller Wax. haha.

Well Dennis is back to a 3, possibly a 4 by landfall. Trust me, everything I have to worry about is either in Jacksonville tonite or boarded up. I am leaving tomorrow morning to stay w/ a group just north of here. This is gonna be ugly for here, only 10 months after Ivan....not good.
Be safe Maurice and anyone else around.

Generators are a must if you can afford one!! YOu may not be able to find one now. Last summer when we lost power to to hurricanes, I was able to run the fridge, small window a/c, tv.. and of course my tank... I will never be without one again!! specially living in FL. I am sure feeling for you all up in the panhandle...

I hope you have a shelter you can go to if you are going to take a direct hit or if you are on the eastern side of the eye wall. Most home structures cannot withstand a Cat 4 storm without receiving some significant damage. If your home is older then it is at greater risk due to the buliding codes from years ago.
Best of luck.
