Hurricane Isaac

Well, its tearing up new orleans pretty bad. My college cancelled classes for the next two days. Overnight we are expected to get about 10" of rain. Mind you, my place almost floods after a 2" rain.
We picked everything up off the floor that we could. I packed the trunk of the car down and made arrangements for two places to stay just in case things got rough.
To everyone else out there - good luck, be safe. I hope you all prepared and will make it out unharmed. I hope that in the morning none of us are taking a boat to work. Unless you really do have to take a boat to work.
Sleep tight!

Thanks. I'm hoping all goes well and I don't wake up in the middle of the night and step into a foot of water. lol. We'll see.

You gotta choose what you want. Earthquakes, floods, hurricanes, tornados, fires!
I'm sticking with earthquakes, you can at least sleep through earthquakes!

Good luck. I wouldn't be able to sleep. Too afraid that water would be coming through the front door or something. :(

I don't know man. Hurricane surfin looks a little bit sketchy to me. We got down here in summer of 08' and we had 2 hurricanes come through Texas within like 6 weeks of each other. One was Ike that tore up Galveston pretty bad. We were livin out on the north padre at the time which is the northern part of a long chain of barrier islands that sort of protect the south texas coastline and typically take the brunt of the hurricane surge. Even down were we are the surf was so choppy and chaotic I wouldn't go out there. There were a few brave souls jumping off the end of the pier to get out in it and I thought they were nuts. It's crazy to see the amount of change that occurs to the coast line after storms like that. How much sand can be carried away and relocated.
You would probably be one of those dudes out there though, I know you. A couple tequilla's a couple fajita's n you'd be good to go. :p

I make light of it true, but yes, I would be out there, the fajitas would be well used, the tequilla, no sir, need all my senses and balance and a great stick to make it all come together.

Key West got 70mph gusts as the storm crossed over. No big deal for this little island. Actually, most of the rain was east of KW.

I actually don't officially live in the Keys anymore, but I have a home here. I missed Isaac by a day but no damage here, except a few palm branches.
