I plan on putting this puppy in my 29biocube.
Is it too much to have with my stock powerhead?
Where, oh where do I put it? On the opposite side of the stock outlet valve?

It might be too much......I was gonna put one in my 29G std tank, and it blew everything all over...so I took it out...I have a K1 and K2 in it now
If I was gonna add one to my cube I would add a nano (I have seahorses) or a K1 at most

i had an mp10 in my 10gallon. had it at max too, lol. depends how much flow you're looking for

Well,...perhaps I'll downgrade to a Koralia Nano 425. I've read mixed reviews on this product. Any insite on the powerhead? Where should I mount this thing?

It will be WAY too much, trust me. I have the Koralia 3 in a 55 and it is almost too much for it. The Koralia 3 is 850 gph and like I said, too much for a 55.
I have an Oceanic 14 Biocube, I upgraded the sump pump to the 900 series and it puts out quite a bit. Now I am going to add the smallest powerhead they make just to shoot behind the rock and keep it clean back there.

850gph across a 48" tank is nothing at all. try 2000 gph in a 24 x 24 x 12 tank. the SPS love it.

I hope everything is attached to rock! I don't see how you keep your sand down. Are you using power heads or is that the flow of the filter?
My sump has a 700gph pump, but it is going upwards of course so it slows the flow at output. If I counted all my returns, etc. I would have well over 2500gph, but I mean one power head. If you have that much, the sand wouldn't stay down.

my tank has an mp10 on full power which is roughly 1800 gph. vortech states 1575 gph, but at 20w, its 1800gph. my return pump + headloss puts out 300 gph out of the specially designed streams at the waterfall. sand gets moved but nothing bad.
i have no detritus, so i'm happy. my sps all have crazy polyp extension

so,...from what I think I'm hearing is to get a less powerful powerhead... I want it for more flow and to try and reach all the dead spots...
I plan on putting it on the opposite side of the output valve from the stock nozzle on the biocube,...but about half way down the back of the tank. Opinions??
