Hydor koralia

I have a 265 reef. Right now I have 4 1200 maxi jets in the tank, but I was thinking of upgrading to the hydor koralia 8. Does anyone have any experience with these pumps. And how many would I need?

I have 3 koralia's and I love them all! I am currently only using my nano model, but I have a K2 and K4 as well. You would definitely enjoy them, in my opinion.

I would start with two at either end of the tank facing eachother, and then see how the flow is in other spots. The 8's are pretty powerful, so you could probably do smaller sized for a front to back flow in combo with the 8 going length wise. I guess it depends on your set up too. I'm sure other people will chime in shortly!

I have 2 Koralia 4's in my 100 gal Reef. They have been upgraded with Maxi Eco, so they are about 1600 - 1800GPH. They have done a good job, and I have no complaints at all.

Whats maxi Eco?

Sorry..
The Maxi jet power heads have an upgrade package called Eco something. You can use the upgraded propellers for the Koralia 4s to increase the flow from 1200GPH to somewhere around 1600 - 1800 GPH

WoW talk about under powered lol

Ya you are deffinatly wanting an upgrade from those cheap maxi jets.
I would mix since you have a nice large tank. If you can afford some of the top end pumps they are better than cheap korellas. Not that korellas are bad. I have a pair of 4's in my 125DT, and I want to eventuually get a pair of nice top end pumps to complement.
A pair of Mag 6-8 for the wide dispersal of water, but try something more direct and narrow for a strong but direct stream. Tunze and vortec are nice pumps, but be willing to shell out $400 each. If that is too much to part with, no worries, neither can I.
