I was just wondering if there is a way to get rid of hydroid jellyfish? I have just started to notice a few of them in my tank.

Feeding less usually does the trick. They will die off as their food supply goes away.

no they arent swimming around. They are just on the glass from what I can see. I found them in my sump at first but then I noticed them in my display tank as well.
I dont know how they got there I only have 3 pieces of live rock that I got to seed my tank, two of them came with the tank I bought it used and the other came from a LFS.
I have around 60 lbs of Lake Boniville tufa rock that I bought from a guy in Boise Idaho and It was dry as dry when I got it. Pretty much just base rock. So I ahve no Idea where they came from

I only feed my two false percs. 3 times a week. So I will try to feed less. The food that they dont eat my clean up crew cleans up the left overs pretty good

It doesn't sound like you are feeding to much. Most likely they come from one of the pieces of liverock. They have a fairly short livecycle so I would imagine they will die off slowly.

My tank is in a population bloom of these guys right now. They come and go and normally seen hanging out on the glass. I just counted 28 small ones on my glass.

The tank has been set up for just over a month and I didnt notice any until I brought the rock home. Mind you the only salt water fish store here in my area doesnt know much so it probably came from them when I bought the rock. I did get a bunch of other good critters with it though. Thanks all for your help.

I have had hydroid jellyfish on my liverock for months and they just keep multiplying. I took all of the LR out and scrubbed them off but they are already growing back. I feed one cube of brine a day is that too much?

in regards to feeding, you should only give enough that will be consumed withing 2 minutes. some say that if any hits the tanks floor, its too much. i split my feeding in 2, am & pm. i generally take more time in the pm feedings to make sure they all get fed, my green chromis are little piggies, not leaving much for those down around mid and lower parts of the tank.

I have hydroids. they came in on the shells of my cerith snails and have yet to go away. I talked to some marine experts and they said that hydroids usually cycle out as long as the tank water stays clean and there are not a lot of excess nutrients. If they begin to spread it may mean you have excess nutrients from overfeeding and such,
